well . i got the jsbs and while i have not fired a whole lot i have enough to give a preliminary impression.
1) jsb are way softer and more delicate than the kodiaks.
2) the packing sucks. they are crammed one on top of the other as opposed to the kodiaks.
3) they do a job on critters. tested till 30 yds.

no proper hunts for us guys . that was abolished in the 80's all we can whack are crows (thank god !) and a few species in very specific parameters ie jacks, wild hogs and blue bull when they are about to destroy crops. others include feral animals when on private land and birds near sensitive installations.
a few states have opened a limited season on hogs and blue bulls. u can also bop predators ie wolves , leopards and even tigers when they commit attack on humans but a permit is needed for the same.

I used to live a 1/2 block from a donut shop and an icecream parlor,I could always shoot a few rats. I haven't been on a regular hunt for deer or squirrel for years, too many people out there to be safe.

I can see what you are saying, your ammo prices do suck! No way you can reload to save a few cents? Yes,the USA is probably the last place on earth that allows it's citizens to be armed, and we have to constantly watch the politicians to see it stays that way. Gun ownership laws are different from state to state. My home state has pretty good gun laws, allowing for ownership,shall-issue ccw permits, and rights of self-defense. However other states, like Illinois,Maryland,California, and the District of Columbia have more draconian laws in place. Oddly enough these states seem to suffer from a higher incidences of crime.
I know very little of India, other than what I read in the news, and of course what I have read in the books of Jim Corbett and Kenneth Anderson. Those books though are greatly out of date. Do the people of India have any gun owners associations that can petition your legislature for better laws?

well buddy here goes ..
1 ) reloading is taken as manufacturing arms and ammo hence illegal if done without a proper permit(impossible to get if u are not politically connected).
2 ) import of arms and ammo is not allowed except for use by renowned shots ( who get a ranking in the nationals). however these guys get all kinds of ammo when they are allowed and sell it to us for exorbitant rates.
3 ) buck shot is illegal but slugs (even rifled ones) are legal. go figure.
4) ever heard of a .315 caliber ? i shall do a complete post in case u are interested on this bastard of a caliber.
5 ) we have a good gun forum called "indians for guns" it was and still is a good place to hang out.we are trying hard to get the laws changed and should be able make a dent in them by the time my kids are in their prime. i have a pair of twins both guys btw.
6) in india getting an arms license/ permit is tough but there is no separate permit to carry concealed. it is ur wish as long as u are not in violation of a few other rules.
