Default Crosman 2250XT

Ok, so I bought a Crosman product from PyramydAir (I have had
not use for Crosman in the past due to my perseption of thier quality)
and it is also a co2 shooter ... Ya wanna make something of it? Out
of the box it was ok but the trigger must have had a 10lb pull.,.. Just too
much to be able to get any accurate groups at any distance.... I tore the
gun apart and started polishing... Trigger, sear, pins, hammer, barrel
bore, and crown all got polished and I cut a couple rings off the sear
spring to reduce the pressure it was putting on the sear. It was rainy and
cold when I got the gun so all I had was 16ft and 27ft inside the house
for testing....

Before polishing and trigger work @ 27ft
Left top target is one shot... The rest are 5 shots

Before polishing and trigger work @ 16ft Daisy Precision Max

5 shot groups after polishing and trigger work @ 16ft with
Daisy Precision Max

On this one, I cut out the bullseye just for fun...

@ 20yds with gusting wind JSB 16gr

Yesterday was a clear cool day but, windy for the most part... Temps
were in the 50's so I was having pressure problems with the co2...
The wind finally died right before dark and I got a few groups off at
65yds just for fun..... Seemed to be grouping at less than 3". I was kinda
impressed....
65yds

A few JSB 16gr pellets I found at the 65yd target. A lot more energy than
I expected... I tried to Chrony the gun with the Combro but I think the
co2 is screwing up the results... It was reading around 135FPS... That
can't be right.... My Benjamin 392 doesn't smash pellets like this at 65yds
and it shoots around 500FPS...SO, the power output on this gun is yet to
be determined. I might have to do the Pellet Drop calculation to figure
something close....

I was getting over 200 shot from the 88 gram co2 tube so I thought that
was pretty great.... This gun makes a great short range plinker with
much better accuracy than I was expecting... The Center Point 4X scope
is crap... I ordered a UTG 4X32 Full Size AO Mil-Dot Scope. It is suppose
to focus down to 7.5 yds so it should be a perfect fit for this gun...

The XT's are great guns, get it modded and they turn into real accurate and powerful guns. Also, loose the 88gr bottles, not worth the money. It took me a while to figure that one out, but when I did there's no way I'm going back to the Crosman bottles. Plus they're not "clean", and what I mean by not "clean" is that they have metal shavings inside the bottle. Sooner or later a shaving will cut a seal and it'll all leak out of the barrel. Happened to me twice.
I got mine from Roy at Mountain Air, and after the 2nd Co2 leak had it resealed by Tim @ Mac1, he uses the good orings that'll probably last the life of the gun.

This gun will hold it's own against my HW's and Beeman's in the accuracy dept out to 60 yards, and it'll do it very, very quietly. Along with a working shroud, a 2 stage adjustable sear, it's pull is in ounces, bolt probe and handle, and a 9 oz paintball bottle and adapter.
Your XT has a lot of potential, if you mod it, you'll be very surprised at how well the gun can shoot.

Nice setup exposo. I did a little browsing @ Mountain Air but didn't see any 88gram co2 cartrages..... That paintball setup you have seems to be a great way to go.... I am trying not to get too exotic with this one as I already have so many modded guns already and I am looking to get one more... I am trying to keep this one simple and use it for 0-30yd range.... It is tough to just leave a gun stock when there are so many addons out there...lol Thanks for the advise.. I guess I will have to call Roy to order more co2....

If you're going to keep it running on the stock Co2 setup, 88gr bottles, I would suggest that you go to Walmart to get it. It's 9-10 bucks for 2 bottles. Roy doesn't sell Co2, he just builds and mods guns. Trust me, once you get into shooting the XT, the littles bottles will go fast, that's the only reason why I went with the paintball tanks. In nice tempatures,
75-95 degrees, I can get anywhere between 60 to almost 75 shots per tank, and that's with a full on modded valve.

Got cha.... I am getting the bottles from Walmart... I only bought one from PA... I am getting well over 200 shots from these 88grams now... I have a compressor and HPA bottle guns for all day plinking if I run out of co2... The XT was mostly bought so that I could shoot inside and just plink outside some with a bunch of shots in the tank.... Sounds like you have your XT running high speed.... Any idea what FPS it is running?

I don't have a chrony so I don't have #'s.
But, it'll put a FTS through a tin soup can
at 50 yards, it's running hot. I also had it resealed
by Mac1 so it'll be good to go for a while.

Very interesting, to me. 200 shots from the 88gr stock 2250XT, but a modded valve version gets 60-75 out of a 9oz paintball tank.

What a manufacturer says shouldn't be taken as the gospel. Just like when a manufacturer says their gun shoots 1000 fps, yeah right, I believe that every time, must be a good gun. I've never shot a plain old stock version of the XT, but I highly doubt that you can get 200 shots from a 88gr bottle, even in ideal tempetures. I've emptied a 9 oz bottle in 104 degrees with 75 useful shots, the last 2 shots fell 3 ft short of the target, which would have made 77 so I didn't count those. Valve modified Co2 guns are gas hogs, no way around it, not unless you add a HDD to the gun, and even that will only increase the shot count by a few shots, and it'll only work on Crosmans.
